The Mahindra XEV 9S is a 7-seater electric SUV, and it is essentially the electric version of the brand’s popular SUV, the Mahindra XUV700.

A total of 4,508 units of the Mahindra XEV 9S were sold during August 2026, and it secured the top position. The Tata Punch secured the position as the second best-selling electric car in India, and the brand sold a total of 4,430 units of the electric SUV. The Tata Nexon EV secured the position as the third best-selling electric car in India in August with sales of a total of 3,975 units, whereas the MG Windsor secured the fourth position with sales of a total of 3,705 units. The Tata Harrier EV secured the position as the fifth best-selling electric car model in August 2026 with sales of a total of 2,103 units.

As mentioned earlier, the Mahindra XEV 9S is available in a total of 4 trims, and the battery pack options are: 70 kWh and 79 kWh. The XEV 9S has a rear-wheel-drive setup, and the electric motor can generate peak power and torque outputs of 245 hp and 310 Nm, respectively. The smaller battery pack has a claimed range of up to 600 km, whereas the larger battery pack has a claimed range of up to 679 km on a single charge.
