Officials reportedly told the publication, “We have found two such clips. But it is five to six years old. They are finding out the link and the person who uploaded the MMS.”
A case was registered against an unknown person or persons under the Information Technology Act. The investigation focused on identifying who had uploaded and circulated the material.
Mona Singh Spoke About the Impact
Singh later spoke about the wider impact of such incidents. She said the problem was not limited to celebrities and could affect anyone.
“If today this can happen to me, it can happen to any innocent girl, and things like this can ruin lives and careers forever.”
She also urged the media not to give publicity to people behind such acts.
“This is a very serious issue, and it needs to stop!” she said, while calling on journalists and editors to take a stand.
