Jagran Correspondent, Ambala: Four labourers died, and nearly 30 others are feared trapped after the lintel of a three-storey under-construction building collapsed on Sunday evening in Ghulkot village of Ambala, Haryana.
The incident occurred while workers were laying the lintel on the third floor.
Nine Workers Rescued So Far
Emergency teams, including a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team, arrived at the site shortly after the collapse. Five JCBs are currently working to clear the debris. Nine workers have been rescued so far and transported to the district hospital for treatment.
BJP District President Mandeep Rana also arrived at the site to assess the situation. Authorities have identified all four deceased as Rajendra, a resident of Sonda village in Ambala, Kalia, from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, Shastri from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, and Roop Singh, a resident of Dang Dera village in Punjab.
Over 30 Workers Were Present At The Site
The incident took place at a site spanning approximately 1,000 square yards. At the time of the collapse, between 15 and 20 labourers were working on the upper level, while another 10 to 12 workers were working on the floor below.
Rescue operations are underway to locate the remaining missing workers.
