Ajay Devgn had a hilarious response when he was asked what would have happened if Kajol had been part of the Drishyam franchise. Appearing on the first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 with the cast of Drishyam: The Conclusion, Ajay joked that the popular thriller would have never been made if Kajol had been in the first film.
The conversation came up when brought director Abhishek Pathak into the discussion about the franchise. Referring to Kajol, Kapil asked, “Abhishek sir, if you had cast Kajol ma’am in the first part, don’t you think she would have made you spill everything right there?”
Ajay responded with a quick one-liner: “The first film wouldn’t have been made!”
The joke plays on the reputation of the Drishyam films, which revolve around Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay, going to extraordinary lengths to protect his family and cover up a crime. Kajol, who is married to Ajay, is not part of the franchise.

The upcoming episode marks the opening of Season 5 of The Great Indian Kapil Show. Ajay appeared on the show with Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Jaideep Ahlawat, along with director Abhishek Pathak.
Jaideep also shared a personal connection with Ajay during the episode. The actor revealed that his association with Ajay dates back to his first film, Aakrosh.
The episode promises plenty of banter, with Sunil Grover also seen mimicking Ajay. Jaideep joins Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda’s revived Sona and Mona act, while Ajay’s one-liners earn praise from Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Sidhu said, “Bolta nahi, par jab bolta hai jaandaar, wazandaar (He doesn’t speak, but when he speaks, it carries weight).”
Kapil also joked about his own equation with Ajay, saying that although he has known the actor for 15 years, they have barely spoken.
“I have known Ajay, sir, for the last 15 years, and we have spoken only 14 times. ‘I am fine. How are you?’ That’s all we said in the film too. ‘I am fine. How are you?’” he said.
The fifth season will feature guests from Bollywood, television, OTT and cricket. The line-up includes Tamannaah Bhatia, Sidharth Malhotra, Shweta Tiwari, Anup Soni, Maniesh Paul, Zakir Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vikas Divyakirti and the cast of The Vvaan.
