Actor, producer and filmmaker Dhanush has heaped praise on director Karthik Subbaraj’s latest film Dorothy, calling the Keerthy Suresh-starrer a “masterpiece” and applauding its performances and music.
Taking to X, Dhanush wrote, “Dorothy – a masterpiece from @karthiksubbaraj.”
He further described the film as “bold and poignant” as well as “raw and intense”, while praising the performances of the cast.
“Every actor has performed brilliantly. Our maestro Ilayaraja sir’s background score will blow your mind away. Rudhrathandavam from Isaignani,” he wrote.
Dhanush also extended his best wishes to Subbaraj and the entire team ahead of the film’s release.
The film’s original soundtrack was released ahead of its theatrical debut. The makers also organised a special “Dorothy Concert”, where the soundtrack was performed by a live orchestra.
Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Dorothy stars Keerthy Suresh alongside Sananth and Rishikanth. Set in the 1990s, the film features music by veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja.
S. Thirunavukkarasu serves as the director of photography, while Ganesh Siva is the editor. Dinesh Subbarayan has choreographed the action sequences and Sherif M has handled the dance choreography. Praveen Raja has designed the costumes.
The film has been produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, with Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment presenting the project. Sikhya Entertainment and Dhammam Films have backed the production.
Dorothy had its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival in the Centrepiece section, where it received a standing ovation from the audience. The film has now released worldwide.
