New Delhi: Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik) chief and MLA from Kunda, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, on Thursday, performed Shastra Puja to mark the key tradition on Dussehra at his house in Benti. The video of the ceremony has sparked a flood of controversy on social media platforms.
The video circulated online shows a massive collection of weapons(over 200) displayed on a table in front of the minister during the ritual. The clip caught attention not just due to the opulence it holds, but it dates to the recent accusations that his wife made against him.
Wife accused him of possessing illegal weapons
A few days ago, his estranged wife, Bhanvi Singh, accused him of possessing illegal and banned foreign weapons, alleging that some of them are capable of carrying out mass destruction. She had also registered a complaint with the Home Minister, citing threats to her life. The matter has reportedly been forwarded by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to the Ministry of Home Affairs for further inquiry.
Accused of domestic abuse
The accusations did not end with this. A few months ago, Bhanvi had registered a complaint against Raja Bhaiya of alleged domestic violence. In her complaint, she accused him of physical and mental abuse over several years.
In her statement, the wife claimed that in the initial days of her marriage, she chose hard to preserve her marriage. But, over the years, the abuse continued to get worse. Viewing the sensitivity of the situation, she decided to approach the authorities.
