QC3 arrives as Honda looks to expand its electric scooter presence, with sales currently well behind Bajaj and TVS
Honda has launched the QC3 electric scooter in India at Rs 1.35 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi. Positioned as a family EV, the scooter offers a certified IDC range of 145 km, connected technology and 32 litres of storage. Bookings are now open at Rs 5,000 via website as well as authorized dealers.
Honda QC3 – Initial Launch Across Five Cities
The QC3 will initially be introduced in Delhi, Agra, Cuttack, Surat and Kollam through select authorised Honda RedWing dealerships. The five-city rollout marks the first phase of its introduction, with wider availability details yet to be shared.
Honda QC3 features a 3 kWh fixed, non-swappable battery with a claimed IDC range of 145 km. Charging from 0–80% takes 2 hours and 40 minutes, while a full charge takes 4 hours. Equipment includes a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.
It also gets a smart key with keyless start, all-LED lighting with LED DRLs and 32 litres of underseat storage. Suspension comprises a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, while braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear drum. 4 colours are on offer – Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue.
Honda’s Scooter Leadership Yet To Translate Into EV Volumes
Despite being , Honda currently has a relatively small presence in the electric scooter space. Its strength in the overall scooter market has yet to translate into comparable electric volumes.
In August 2026, Honda QC1 recorded sales of 1,902 units, while Activa e added 140 units. Together, the two accounted for 2,042 units—approximately 1.08% of the 1,88,714 units covered in the electric scooter sales compilation.
The gap to the leaders remains substantial. Bajaj Chetak topped the list with 52,248 units, followed by TVS iQube at 42,882 units. Hero Vida recorded 25,558 units, while Ather Rizta contributed 22,586 units. TVS also sold 14,641 units of the Orbiter, further strengthening its electric scooter presence.
QC3 To Support Honda’s Electric Scooter Push
The QC3 gives Honda another product through which to attract family scooter buyers considering an electric alternative. Its range, storage and connected features could help broaden the appeal of Honda’s electric lineup and support higher sales.
However, the initial five-city availability will limit its immediate reach. A wider rollout, along with competitive ownership costs and convenient charging, will be important if Honda is to make a substantial gain against the segment leaders.
The QC3 also continues Honda’s recent product introductions. Following its July showcase, the company launched the Rebel 300 and ADV160 in August, followed by the and updated range. The latest launch extends that activity into electric scooters.
Another India-Focused Electric Scooter In Development
Beyond the QC3, Honda is also working on an all-new electric scooter This upcoming model is expected to target local customer requirements more closely and compete more directly with high-volume offerings such as Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
Its specifications, pricing and launch timeline remain to be detailed. For now, the QC3 represents Honda’s next step towards growing its electric scooter business, while the India-specific model could play a larger role in its longer-term sales ambitions.
