Vijay Sethupathi is heading for a busy phase with multiple films lined up for release over the next few months. The actor is expected to have five releases between October and January, giving him a continuous presence in theatres. Baththa is the first in the list, followed by his special appearance in Jailer 2, SlumDog, Train and Inji Vellam.
Baththa is scheduled to release on October 1st. Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, the period drama reunites the director with Vijay Sethupathi after their earlier collaborations. Lijomol Jose, Sai Abhyankkar and Sahasra are also part of the cast. The film is the actor’s next theatrical release. Just two weeks later, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in Jailer 2. He has a special cameo in the Rajinikanth starrer and has already spoken about shooting a scene with the Superstar. Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is scheduled for October 15th release.
SlumDog: 33 Temple Road, directed by Puri Jagannadh, is another major project in the lineup. Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead, with Tabu and Samyuktha also part of the cast. The film is planned as a pan-India release. While November 20th is being discussed as the release date, the makers have not officially announced that date yet.
Mysskin’s Train is also waiting for release. Vijay Sethupathi leads the film, which also features Shruti Haasan, Nassar and several other actors. The film has completed production and the teaser has already been released. However, an official theatrical release date is yet to be announced, so the reported December plan should be treated as tentative. The fifth film is Inji Vellam, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Vijay Sethupathi alongside Sai Pallavi. The romantic drama is currently slated for a January 2027 theatrical release and is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
