Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas wished actress Kareena Kapoor Khan on her 46th birthday, describing the Bollywood icon as one of a kind.
Priyanka shared a picture of Kareena on social media in a colourful, rainbow-toned leheriya saree and wrote, “Happy Birthday @kareenakapoorkhan There will never be anyone like you.”
The picture appears to have been taken during Kareena’s recent promotional appearance for her upcoming film Daayra, where she was seen in the vibrant saree.
Kareena later gave the look a nostalgic touch by sharing a collage comparing her saree with a similar ensemble worn by her sister Karisma Kapoor in the 2001 film Zubeidaa. Karisma had sported the iconic drape in the song “Dheeme Dheeme Gaao”.
Priyanka and Kareena, who are among Bollywood’s most prominent actresses, were once portrayed as rivals, particularly after their appearances on the early seasons of Koffee with Karan.
During one episode, Kareena had jokingly questioned Priyanka’s accent, asking, “Where did she get that accent from?” Priyanka later responded in another episode with an equally witty remark, saying, “The same place her boyfriend gets it from,” referring to Kareena’s then-boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, who had studied in the UK.
Over the years, however, both actresses have maintained that there is no animosity between them.
The two actresses have also shared screen space in Abbas-Mustan’s 2004 thriller Aitraaz, which starred Akshay Kumar alongside them.
Priyanka earned acclaim for her performance as antagonist Sonia Roy, while Kareena played Priya Malhotra, Raj’s supportive wife, with Akshay Kumar portraying the character of Raj.
Priyanka’s birthday message comes as Kareena continues to remain active in films, with Daayra among her upcoming projects.
