Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon often shares personal anecdotes, and her latest revelation centers on her daughter Rasha’s butterfly tattoo. During a recent appearance as a special guest on the dance reality show “India’s Best Dancer,” Raveena recounted a touching story about the tattoo.
A contestant sought Raveena’s help in convincing her mother to get a tattoo, leading to a conversation about the emotional significance of body art. Raveena shared her own experiences, highlighting tattoos that commemorate her children and even a scorpion design. However, it was Rasha’s butterfly tattoo that captured the most attention.
Raveena explained that Rasha chose to get the butterfly tattoo following the passing of her grandfather. She believes that a butterfly visits her during shoots, representing her grandfather’s spirit offering blessings. This connection inspired Rasha to permanently ink the butterfly on her body, which also features colors and symbols associated with Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna.
The design is rich with meaning. Raveena noted that within the butterfly’s wings lies a peacock feather representing Lord Krishna, while the image of Lord Shiva in his blue-throated form is also included. This tattoo serves as a source of inspiration for Rasha as she navigates her life.
Additionally, Raveena discussed the long-standing tradition of tattooing in India. She mentioned that for centuries, body art has been a part of various cultures across the country, particularly in Rajasthan and among tribal communities. Historically, the method of tattooing, known as “godna,” involved the use of needles, differing from contemporary techniques.
Raveena has also adorned her body with tattoos representing her children’s names, along with paw prints and a scorpion design, reflecting her personal journey and family bonds.
