Peddi Box Office Day 2: Charan Film Sees Dip After Big Opening

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s sports drama Peddi hit the big screens on June 4 amid massive fan frenzy.

The preview shows and opening-day screenings witnessed huge crowds, with Ram Charan fans queuing up in large numbers to watch the early shows of the Buchi Babu Sana directorial.

However, after a strong start, Peddi witnessed a drop in collections on its second day.

The Ram Charan-starrer collected ₹18.50 crore from preview shows alone. On its opening day, the pan-India sports drama earned ₹51 crore. After the bumper opening, the film saw a decline in business on Day 2.

Despite the dip, Peddi managed to collect ₹26.90 crore at the box office on its second day. The film, released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, is performing best in its original Telugu version.

With this, Peddi’s total domestic collection after two days stands at ₹96.40 crore.

In the overseas market, the film collected ₹8 crore on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to ₹36 crore so far. This has pushed the film’s worldwide gross collection to ₹150.49 crore.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a high-budget Telugu sports action drama that blends sports, village identity and social justice.

The film stars Ram Charan in the titular role, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani. The music has been composed by A R Rahman.

Set in a rural village in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, during the 1990s, the story follows Peddi, a gifted athlete skilled in cricket, wrestling and sprinting.
