Jo Jung-Suk has once again cleared the air about a long-running misunderstanding surrounding his marriage to Gummy. During a recent conversation, the actor revealed that the couple never held a formal wedding ceremony after registering their marriage in 2018, despite many people assuming otherwise for years.
Jung-Suk shared that even acquaintances had questioned why they were not invited to the wedding. Gummy has spoken about the same topic multiple times before and explained that organising a traditional event and deciding on the guests to invite would have been quite complicated.

Jo Jung-Suk recently appeared in a teaser shared on May 22 through Hyeri’s YouTube channel, where he clarified rumors surrounding his wedding ceremony with singer Gummy. The Hospital Playlist actor shared that many people still mistakenly believe they had a traditional wedding. “Many people assume we held a wedding ceremony, but we didn’t,” he said, adding that even some acquaintances had jokingly asked why they were not invited.
The couple officially registered their marriage in 2018 through a private commitment ceremony instead of hosting a large public wedding. Over the years, Gummy has also spoken openly about the misunderstanding. In a previous appearance on Bigbang member Daesung’s YouTube channel, the singer revealed that many people were surprised to learn they never had an actual wedding ceremony. Gummy later revisited the topic during an appearance on singer K.Will’s YouTube channel, where she shared that some people were even disappointed after discovering the truth because they had believed a wedding had taken place adding that organising a traditional ceremony and deciding on guest invitations would have been complicated.
Meanwhile, Jo Jung-Suk also offered fans a sweet glimpse into his family life following the recent birth of the couple’s second daughter. The actor joked that both daughters resemble him more than Gummy, saying, “We now have three Jo Jung-Suks and one Gummy in our household.”
