PV Sindhu Asian Games 2026: Full Schedule, Matches, Squad & Latest Updates

PV Sindhu heads into the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games as one of the biggest names in India’s badminton contingent, bringing years of experience on the continental stage.

In addition to winning two Olympic medals, the two-time Olympian has also won two Asian Games singles medals: silver in Jakarta in 2018 and bronze in Incheon in 2014. Sindhu will compete in the women’s team and singles tournaments in Japan as a member of India’s 20-person badminton team.

India’s women’s team will take on Kazakhstan in the Round of 16 on September 20. If they advance, they might play the hosts, Japan, in the quarterfinals. The individual events will begin on September 25, making Sindhu’s schedule one to follow closely.

The Indian women’s team will play five games against Kazakhstan in the Round of 16 on Sunday, September 20. India would play host Japan in the quarterfinals if they defeated Kazakhstan. A bye to the Round of 16 was granted to Japan. India can only face the tournament favourite in the final because top-seeded China is on the other side of the draw.

Meanwhile, the Indian men’s team will play Bangladesh in the Round of 16 on September 21. In the team competition at the last edition in Hangzhou, India took home the silver medal.  may play China in the semifinals and host Japan in the quarterfinals. Similar to the women’s tournament, India can only face the top-seeded Indonesian team in the final because they are on the other side of the draw.
