Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared a message on perseverance, using the simple example of an automatic lift door to illustrate how even the smallest effort can create an opportunity.
In a post on his blog, the veteran actor reflected on how different situations in life may require different approaches, but persistence can eventually make a difference.
“Kuch bina bole hota hai, kuch bolke hota hai, aur kuch thok-thaak ke hota hai. Lekin hota zaroor hai,” Bachchan wrote, explaining that some things happen without words, some through speaking up, while others require knocking or pushing. But, he said, they do happen.
He then drew a parallel with an automatic lift door. Bachchan explained that the door begins closing after remaining open for a certain period, which can be inconvenient for someone trying to enter at the last moment.
However, he noted that even placing a finger in the door’s path can cause it to reopen before returning to its designated position.
Drawing a lesson from the example, Bachchan said that life can work in much the same way, with even a small effort capable of creating an opening.
“Zindagi mein bhi ek chhota sa prayatna darwaze khol deta hai, chahe woh ek chhoti si ungli ke barabar hi kyun na ho,” he wrote.
Bachchan stressed that expecting results without making an effort is not realistic and encouraged people to continue working towards their goals.
“Bina prayatna kiye kuch mile — impossible! Keep trying, keep moving, keep at it… Someday, that door will get fed up and open up,” he added.
