Juhi Chawla is only female actor in India’s richest list; Kapoors missin

Juhi Chawla is the only female actor to feature in the 2025 M3M Hurun India Rich List. Despite not being an active part of films, she has surpassed the likes of Deepika Padukone, , and Kriti Sanon to emerge as the richest female actor in India.

The new list mentions Juhi Chawla`s net worth as Rs 7,790 crore (around 880 million dollars), making her the wealthiest female actor in India. She is second only to Shah Rukh Khan, who tops the list with a staggering net worth of 1.4 billion dollars.

About Juhi Chawla`s wealth

Her wealth comes not just from films but also from multiple business ventures with her husband Jay Mehta. Together, they co-own Red Chillies Entertainment and the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders with Shah Rukh Khan. No other Indian actresses feature in the rich list.

Shah Rukh Khan`s wealth

Khan has been a part of the film industry for over three decades now and is also a successful entrepreneur. His wealth extends beyond his film career, and is anchored in a diversified portfolio of businesses and investments. His flagship enterprise is Red Chillies Entertainment, founded in 2002, which has produced numerous blockbuster films such as Chennai Express, Raees, and Pathaan. The company not only produces films but also manages visual effects, distribution, and content rights, making it a major player in Indian entertainment.

He also co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has been highly profitable both from sponsorship deals and league revenues. In addition, he has significant real estate holdings, including his iconic Mumbai residence Mannat, a villa in Beverly Hills, a farmhouse in Alibaug, and properties in London and Dubai.

He has also invested in luxury automobiles and lifestyle brands, while Red Chillies has a separate visual effects and post-production wing that generates additional income through third-party projects.

Kapoors go missing from top 5

Despite being one of the most prominent film families in India, no member of the Kapoor clan has made it to the top 5. Actor Hrithik Roshan ranks third with a net worth of Rs 2,160 crore, boosted by his brand HRX. Karan Johar and his family follow in fourth place with Rs 1,880 crore from Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. The Bachchan family closes the top 5 with Rs 1,630 crore.

Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher of Hurun India, said, “The M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 reflects energetic progress tempered by caution. The cumulative wealth of India’s richest climbed to Rs 167 lakh crore, with 1,044 individuals gaining wealth versus 643 losing. The surge came from tech, automobiles, infrastructure, jewellery, and real estate, powered by strong domestic demand and a vibrant stock market. India now has 358 dollar-billionaires, up from 200 five years ago, together holding wealth nearly half of India’s GDP.”
