Actor and internet personality Anjali Arora broke her silence on Thursday regarding the intense online backlash she faced following her casting as Mata Sita in the upcoming mythological film Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha. Speaking at the film’s official trailer launch event, Arora addressed critics who questioned her suitability for the revered role due to her background as a social media influencer famous for her viral “Kacha Badam” dance video.

Addressing the criticism directly, Arora stated that public figures naturally open themselves up to public scrutiny and that she remains unfazed by negative comments.
“We are public figures, and we have given the public a right to judge us. So, it is their wish to judge us positively or negatively,” she said at the event. “We are actors; whatever character is offered to us, we will portray it by giving our 100 percent. Once it comes out in front of the public, it is their decision the way they want to look at it.”
Highlighting her viral past, Arora defended her background, urging audiences to separate an actor’s online persona from their performance on screen. “Whatever happens on social media, it is just for some time, but I don’t know why people still remember it,” she said. “I didn’t do anything different; I just followed the trend… People are trolling me that I used to dance, so how can I play the role of Mata Sita? Everyone dances; which actor doesn’t dance? I love to dance; it is my hobby. I am not ashamed of it.”
