Actor Amol Parashar, who turns 40 on Thursday, has revealed that he values time and attention from loved ones more than any material gift or grand gesture.
Speaking to IANS on his birthday, the actor said he has “never been big on birthdays” and plans to keep the occasion low-key this year as well.
“Absolutely no plans this year. I will spend time with myself and my loved ones, and take a break from all the madness otherwise. Personally, I have never been big on birthdays, especially my own. Usually, I take it as a day to relax, reflect and mentally prepare myself for the year ahead,” Parashar said.
Asked about the sweetest birthday gesture he has received, the actor said that someone making time for him matters more than any present.
“Somebody’s time and attention is more valuable than any gift or gesture. I am grateful for the friends and loved ones who take out the time and the day to spend with me or spend it the way I like it,” he said.
On the work front, Parashar recently appeared in the latest season of the popular series “Gram Chikitsalay”, in which he plays Dr. Prabhat, the lead protagonist.
The series explores real and pressing challenges faced by rural healthcare systems. Reflecting on the new chapter of his character’s journey, Parashar had earlier said that Dr. Prabhat encounters both victories and a fresh set of challenges in Bhathkandi.
“What I love about this series is how it highlights some of the very real and concerning issues within rural healthcare, and how these are tackled with humour, warmth and emotions, making the narrative relatable for audiences across all ages and regions,” he said.
“Gram Chikitsalay” Season 2 also features Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Garima Vikrant Singh and Dinesh Lal Yadav in prominent roles.
Directed by Lalitam Tiwari and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, the series is available to stream on Prime Video.
