Weather Update: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert For Rajasthan, Gujarat; Check Forecast For Delhi-NCR, UP

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that 20 states across the country are likely to witness heavy rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms today.

As per the weather department, a low-pressure area is forming over southwest Rajasthan, causing heavy rainfall in the central and western states. Apart from this, the coastal regions of the southern states will also witness similar weather conditions.

Heavy Rain Likely In These States

While providing details, the weather department stated that heavy rainfall is likely in several states, including Delhi, Bihar, UP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Odisha, Punjab, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

Will It Rain In Delhi-NCR?

The IMD stated that the residents of Delhi and nearby cities will witness light to moderate rainfall today, adding that gusty winds are expected throughout the day. While the maximum temperature in the capital city is likely to be calculated at 35 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 24 degrees Celsius.

Heavy Rain Alert For UP Districts

Apart from this, a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for several districts of Uttar Pradesh, such as Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gonda, Azamgarh, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Bahraich, Agra, and Bareilly. The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters and farmers.

IMD Forecast For Rajasthan

The weather department also stated that heavy rain is also likely in several districts of Rajasthan, including Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Pali, Tonk, Alwar, Dungarpur, and Didwana. It further stated that the residents of these regions are also likely to experience gusty winds of up to 50 to 55 kilometers per hour.

Rain Likely In Jharkhand

A heavy rain alert has also been issued for multiple districts of Jharkhand, including Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Deoghar, Ranchi, Dumka, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, East and West Singhbhum, and Khunti. As per the advisory, strong winds with speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour are expected during this period.

The IMD has stated that several districts of Maharashtra and Gujarat are set to witness more rainfall in the coming days.
