Shatrughan Sinha Explains Why He Wished PM Modi a Day Ahead of His Birthday

Actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday extended his birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day ahead of his 76th birthday, explaining that he wanted his message to stand out before the flood of greetings expected on Thursday.

Sinha shared two throwback photographs with Modi on X, formerly Twitter, along with a message wishing the Prime Minister good health, happiness and a long life.

“Wishing you in advance before it gets lost in the flood of good well wishes tomorrow. How do you like the idea Sirji? Many happy returns of the day for our friend, friend of society, hon’ble PM @narendramodi. May you be blessed with great well-being, love, happiness, peace & a very healthy long life ahead. God Bless! #BirthdayWishes,” he wrote.

Prime Minister Modi, who was born on September 17, 1950, will turn 76 on Thursday. He has served as Prime Minister since May 2014.

Sinha, an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, entered politics in the 1990s and was earlier associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as a Lok Sabha member from Patna Sahib and held ministerial portfolios in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

He later joined the Congress in 2019 and subsequently moved to the Trinamool Congress. Sinha is currently the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Asansol in West Bengal and represents the All India Trinamool Congress.

Sinha won the Asansol Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 general election and took oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha in July 2024.

His latest birthday message to Modi comes despite the two leaders being associated with different political parties, with Sinha currently representing the TMC in Parliament.
