If things fall into place, the Hanu Raghavapudi directorial may arrive in the last week of January 2027, the time that sits well with the film’s genre. Republic Day and a film carrying patriotic, even philosophical, dialogue make for a natural pairing. January 26 remains an informed expectation rather than a certainty. Should the nationalism sentiment catch on through a song or some other promotional asset, the pre-release buzz would be enhanced. Occasions matter in theatres, which are a communal experience.
The knock-on effects are unavoidable. Spirit’s release calendar will feel the impact first; a March 5, 2027 outing now looks unlikely. Two Prabhas releases need breathing space between them, and the actor’s dates for Spirit may not be easy to come by. Kalki 2 will also see its shoot pushed slightly, though with no release date locked in, that slippage won’t show up as a visible reschedule.
