Being stuck in the same 24-hour loop is either a blessing or downright terrifying. chose the former and showed how a guy can transform his life again and again, with a bit of help from Flipkart’s upcoming Big Billion Days Sale.
Nearly five minutes long, the ad is packed with celebrities and influencers: Rohit Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Srivastava (senior inspector Abhijeet from CID), Samay Raina, Geni Kamki, Agu Stanley Chiedozie, and others.
Made by Leo, the ad is a mashup of micro-scenarios stitched together to resemble a coherent ad film, all to show how Flipkart’s Big Billion Day Sale helps you. And this strategy is by design because the scenarios are cut and presented as standalone edits on social media.
It may seem novel, but it is standard practice. Last year, Leo took the same approach for the e-commerce giant’s biggest sale of the year. The year-old ad’s star cast included: Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, Sreeleela, Farah Khan, celebrity chef Dilip, boAt’s Aman Gupta, amongst others.
“People think adding celebrities makes the job easy. But add a lot of them, and it becomes very hard. Every star has to have a meaningful part, and you can’t write jokes around them unless you know their personality. We spent nearly three months just writing, revising, and aligning with Flipkart and the celebrities’ schedules before we could shoot,” Leo’s chief creative officer, Sachin Kamble, told afaqs!.
At a time when attention spans are at their lowest, such a long ad is a risk, but can reap rewards too. One such recent attempt was Dream11’s IPL 2025 ad by Tilt Brand Solutions; it included many Indian cricket team players and actors Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff.
