Actress Rhea Chakraborty is back in the news after the CBI registered a FIR in connection with the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea’s name figures among those mentioned in the case.
Rhea had remained under intense media scrutiny following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. She was in a relationship with the actor at the time and was subsequently questioned and arrested in a drugs-related case connected to the investigation. She spent time in jail before being granted bail.
The investigations and allegations surrounding Sushant’s death and the drugs case kept Rhea in the spotlight for several months. She has since moved on with her life and returned to work.
Now, her name has surfaced again in connection with the Disha Salian case. Following an order from the Bombay High Court, the CBI has registered a FIR to investigate Salian’s death.
According to reports, Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, named several prominent personalities in a statement recorded by the CBI. The names reportedly include Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, actors Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, among others.
Being named in the FIR or in a statement does not by itself establish wrongdoing, and it remains to be seen what the CBI’s investigation finds and whether any specific charges are eventually brought against those named.
For Rhea, however, the development brings her name back into a case linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput saga, years after she had stepped away from the intense media scrutiny surrounding it.
