Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has taken a humorous swipe at the way his blog posts are interpreted, joking about what he described as the “anomalies” and “misinterpretation” of his writing.
The veteran actor, writing on his blog, reflected on his continuing work schedule amid the festive season and invitations to visit homes where devotees have brought Lord Ganpati to seek blessings.
He then turned his attention to the way his written words are interpreted in the public domain, saying the resulting “anomalies” were “beyond laughable”.
Bachchan also appeared to take aim at the race to be the first to report or publicise information, suggesting that the pursuit of attention and commercial gains can sometimes come at the expense of accurately understanding the original content.
“The frustration or the anxiety of being the ‘first’ in the domain of the public in order to get the required attention and commercial, at the cost of misinterpretation,” he wrote, adding that a lack of understanding of the language used by those reporting his posts could contribute to distorted interpretations.
The actor further remarked that adding “unwanted and error expressions” to make content appear more authentic could become good commerce, but at the cost of describing moments that “never was”.
With characteristic humour, Bachchan then wondered what interpretations might emerge from his latest blog post, before signing off in a playful manner.
The 83-year-old actor also extended his wishes for peace, prosperity and happiness on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
“May the blessings of Ganapati be upon all of us .. for peace prosperity and happiness,” he wrote.
Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated with the installation of Ganesha idols in homes and public pandals. The festival traditionally culminates on the 10th day with processions and immersion of the idols in water bodies.
