Diljit Dosanjh Celebrates Historic Wembley Stadium Milestone: ‘I Was Simply a Witness’

Punjabi music star and actor Diljit Dosanjh has celebrated his historic performance at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, describing the moment as a dream unfolding before his eyes and expressing gratitude for the milestone.

Sharing a video from the concert on Instagram, Diljit said a new chapter had been written in history and humbly attributed the achievement to God.

“Kal Da Din History ch Nava Chapter Likh Geya… Par Karn Wala Oh Aap Aap Hee C… Dil Di Gal Dasan Tan Mai Stage Te Sirf Witness Hee Kar Riha c Jo Supna Chal Riha C,” he wrote, saying he felt he was merely witnessing a dream come true on stage.

He added that performing at Wembley was something he had once only dreamed of, writing, “Tusi Kal Oh Possible Kar Ke Dikha Ta Jis Barey Sochna v Apne Aap Ch Dream C. SHUKAR SHUKAR.”

The video captures Diljit opening the concert with the energetic line, “Punjabi Aa Gaye Wembley Oye” (“The Punjabis have arrived at Wembley”), as he addressed the packed venue.

His more than two-hour performance featured several of his popular tracks, including “GOAT”, “Lover”, “Hass Hass” and “Born to Shine”. He concluded the show with “Main Hoon Punjabi”, followed by a fireworks display.

During the concert, Diljit also announced his upcoming show in Ahmedabad. He referred to the Narendra Modi Stadium as India’s largest stadium and mentioned Coldplay’s concert at the venue.

The Wembley performance marked a major milestone for Diljit as he became the first Punjabi artist to perform at the iconic London venue. According to reports, nearly 92,000 fans attended the concert, with the reported turnout exceeding audience figures associated with some of Wembley’s memorable concerts, including Michael Jackson’s 1988 performance and Queen’s 1986 show, which reportedly drew around 75,000 spectators each.

Ending his post on an upbeat note, Diljit teased his next major concert with the phrase, “Next up World’s Biggest Stadium Kem Cho? Maza Ma.”
