Karim Adeyemi’s spectacular late goal secured the win for the Catalan team. Although Barcelona initially appeared to be on track for an easy victory with a three-goal lead, Levante made a late push, scoring twice in the closing minutes before Adeyemi’s stoppage-time goal sealed the match.
Early Dominance by Barcelona
Xavi Espart opened the scoring for Barcelona just five minutes into the match with a low right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area, marking his first competitive goal for the team.
In the 19th minute, Barcelona doubled their lead when Lamine Yamal finished a well-executed play involving Fermín López and Raphinha, with the Brazilian winger providing his second assist of the game.
Shortly after the second half began, Lamine scored again, converting a penalty after being fouled by Mandi, extending Barcelona’s lead to 3-0.
Levante’s Late Rally
Levante, however, fought back and narrowed the gap in the 79th minute when Iván Romero capitalized on a defensive error, rounding goalkeeper Joan Garcia to score into an empty net.
The hosts continued their offensive efforts, and Brugué scored in the 88th minute from a rebound, bringing the score to 3-2 and igniting hopes for a dramatic comeback.
Adeyemi’s Late Goal Seals the Match
Despite Levante’s resurgence, Adeyemi ensured Barcelona’s victory with a remarkable solo goal in stoppage time. The German forward sprinted from the halfway line, executed a backheel to evade Mandi, and finished calmly to secure all three points for his team.
Aiming for Club History
Barcelona now sets its sights on making history as they prepare to face Racing Santander at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday. A win would mark their seventh consecutive victory at the start of a season, a first in the club’s history.
