The Don 3 dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment intensified after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor for walking away from the project days before filming was set to begin. Later, the body withdrew the directive and clarified that it had not banned the actor. Veteran actress Poonam Dhillon, president of the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), has supported the decision and called   a responsible actor committed to his work. She also revealed that the Dhurandhar star’s father had been in touch with her regarding the controversy. Here’s what he had to say about the ongoing feud.

In an interview with Variety India, Poonam said that she had spoken at length with Ranveer’s father and had been in touch with him on WhatsApp. She revealed that he thanked her for the support and explained that the family had been interacting with Excel Entertainment.

According to Dhillon, Ranveer’s father spoke warmly about his bond with Farhan and the Excel team. “He told me they had been interacting with Excel Entertainment and how close and fond he is of Farhan and the Excel team. There’s no animosity from his side.”

She added that while the family was unhappy with the way FWICE had handled the matter, they did not seek ‘s intervention. When she offered assistance, Ranveer’s father reportedly told her that they did not want to trouble the association and were already in the process of resolving the issue themselves. Dhillon noted that, technically, they did not require CINTAA’s involvement and expressed happiness that the matter had been settled positively.

In the same interview, Poonam also called out the FWICE and said that it had “absolutely no credibility to take such action against an actor of his calibre.”

Days after FWICE announced a ban-like movement against Ranveer, the Dhurandhar actor reportedly sent a  to the organisation.

Meanwhile, he has maintained a dignified silence amid the controversy. His spokesperson shared a statement on his and said that the actor holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and people associated with Don 3. They added that several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, but Ranveer has never felt it necessary to respond publicly or add to the conjecture.
