Both the teams started cautiously, before the Indians settled into their rhythm and began creating openings, eventually breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute with Madhu Sidar providing the finishing touch to give India a 1-0 lead. The headway gave India added momentum as they had a major share in the exchanges in the second quarter, with incursions into the Korean circle. The South Koreans showed fought hardl and created a few opportunities, but the Indian defence stood rock solid and never allowed their rivals to penetrate. India further swelled the lead to 4-0 in the third quarter with Supriya once again in thick of action converting a short corner in the 33rd minute. Though Korea managed to pull one back eight minutes later through YuriJeong. Despite attacking with purpose, their hopes of any further comeback failed to materialise as India further stretched the lead in the 56th minute (5-1), when Supriya came up with yet another penalty corner conversion to complete a hat-trick, to cap a dominating show by the Indians and effectively sealing the fate of their rivals.
