Actress Sayani Gupta has wrapped shooting for her debut US feature film, ‘Arya’, which also stars Hollywood actors Ross Butler and Marc Evan Jackson.
Sayani announced the completion of the shoot through a collaboration post with Arya Film on Instagram, thanking Minnesota for hosting the production and teasing a full cast announcement.
The actress also shared news of Butler and Jackson joining the project. Written and directed by Neil Tuli, ‘Arya’ follows Arya Sinha, a disciplined piano teacher from a prestigious Indian conservatory who reluctantly accepts an assignment in northern Minnesota.
According to the film’s synopsis, Arya hopes to revive a struggling band programme while also advancing her career ambitions back home. However, as she struggles to adapt to her chaotic new surroundings, she is forced to loosen her grip on control, confront hidden insecurities and embrace a new understanding of success.
The film has also added Adi Roy, Kyra Leroux, Arjun Gupta, Sari Lennick, Rita Wolf and Iqbal Theba to its cast.
‘Arya’ marks Tuli’s feature directorial debut. He has previously held strategy roles at Netflix and Illumination. The film is being produced under his American Haathi banner, alongside Pallavi and Keertana Sastry of Adda G Productions, known for ‘Land of Gold’.
Sayani Gupta is known for her performances in projects including ‘Delhi Crime’ and ‘Axone’. Her recent work includes the latest season of ‘Four More Shots Please!’ and ‘Delhi Crime Season 3’.
‘Four More Shots Please!’ follows four women navigating friendship, relationships, mistakes and personal growth in Mumbai, while ‘Delhi Crime’ stars Shefali Shah as police officer Vartika Chaturvedi, who leads her team through challenging investigations. The series won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
