The Ahmedabad Shopping Festival will be held from 5 December 2025 to 16 January 2026 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Promotion of indigenous products, theme -based zones, cultural programs and special attractions for foreign tourists will be.
Gandhinagar, 29 September. In a high level meeting held on Monday in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, it was decided that this year the Ahmedabad shopping festival will be held from 5 December 2025 to 16 January 2026. The event will be organized in collaboration with the State Government and Ahmedabad Metropolitan Municipality.
Indigenous products will get global promotion at the festival
It was decided in the meeting that indigenous products will be specially promoted in this year’s festival. Its objective is to encourage Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Wocal for Local’ and maximum use of products made by the youth.
Theme based market and attractive zone plan
The city markets were considered to be developed under different themes. The Chief Minister suggested that if possible, various zones including wedding destination zone should be established in GMDC ground, so that all items are available at the same place and the festival will become more attractive.
Emphasis on traditional food and cultural presentation
It was also decided in the meeting that NRI-NRG and foreign tourists should also participate enthusiastically in the festival. For this, traditional food, heritage walks and cultural presentations will also be made smoothly with indigenous items.

Detailed plan through advisory committee
The Chief Minister directed that the Advisory Committee of Ahmedabad Shopping Festival should prepare the complete plan by including all aspects. Keeping in mind the experience and review of the previous year, he ensured that this year was organizing flower proof and vocal for local.
Last year success figure
Last year, more than 25 lakh people attended the festival. 5112 shops participated and had great success in sales. Facilities like decorative lighting, free bus service, parking and medical emergency were provided at the festival.
Instructions for more facilities
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel instructed the Ahmedabad metropolitan municipality to provide better facilities this year. The meeting was attended by Tourism Secretary Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Cultural Activities Commissioner Mr. Alok Pandey, Director of Municipality Administration Ms. Raymya Mohan and several senior officials.
