The negative reviews and trolling turned Toxic into a film many couldn’t bring themselves to watch. Seeing how it has evidently turned into a box office disaster, the movie was marketed as one of biggest films. However, we finally know his reaction to the film’s failure.
Dubbing supervisor Jaidev Mohan revealed what Yash had to say about the unfortunate matter. Speaking on Prajavani’s YouTube channel, he claimed that over 3 lakh piracy links were found and taken down since the movie was released. He also talked about how much it hurt the cast and crew to see something they worked so passionately on flop this hard.
“I haven’t met him since the release, but I have spoken to him twice on the phone. What else do you expect? I am a very small part of this movie. But I got very emotional after seeing the reviews and reactions on its release day. I got his phone call saying, don’t worry too much. Let’s leave it to the audience; it’s their wish. There is work to be done next. But I can hear the pain.”
Even in his pain, Yash was trying to be supportive towards all those people who were hurting upon seeing all their efforts being received so poorly.
He continued, “It grew from a seed four years ago. I’ve heard it from its first version. The versions change by the time you finish shooting. I saw how it grew and evolved. But it’s okay. At the end of the day, the audience is mahaprabhu (supreme); they’re the ultimate. If they like it, they will. If they don’t, they don’t. You can’t say, we made it well, they didn’t get it.”
