Abhishek Malhan Takes the Helm as Gang Leader in MTV Roadies 21

influencer Abhishek Malhan is set to make his mark as a gang leader in the upcoming season of MTV’s Roadies, titled “Roadies Rebirth.” Malhan expressed that stepping into this role feels like living out a cinematic dream.

Reflecting on his past, Malhan recalled how he once vowed never to participate in Roadies while watching the auditions conducted by Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman. He admitted that he had never watched a complete season of the show.

“I never completed any season of Roadies, but back when Raghu and Rajiv were auditioning, I told myself I would do anything in life except join Roadies. Life has a way of coming full circle, and now here I am as a gang leader. I used to wonder who would even go there,” he shared.

The 21st season of MTV Roadies is set to premiere with a fresh format, featuring six gang leaders divided into ‘OG’ and ‘NewG’ categories. Alongside Malhan, the lineup includes Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula, Basir Ali, Nikhil Chinappa, and VJ Bani, with Ranvijay Singha returning as the host.

Auditions for this season took place in the Delhi-NCR region, specifically Noida, on September 5.

MTV Roadies first aired on August 15, 2003, created by Raghu Ram and Nikhil J Alva. The show challenges contestants both physically and mentally through various stunts and tasks. Participants compete under different gang leaders and travel to various locations throughout the season.

In addition to the physical challenges, the show is known for its interpersonal dynamics, debates, group discussions, and the vote-out process, which are key highlights.

MTV Roadies has gained immense popularity, not just in India but also internationally. It is one of the longest-running adventure reality shows in the country and has captivated audiences in over 35 countries worldwide, reflecting its widespread appeal.
