Actress Nora Fatehi has landed in legal trouble after an aviation company filed a defamation case against her in a Gandhinagar court. The company alleged that her “derogatory and reckless” comments on social media, in which she called a chartered aircraft a “Lego airplane,” have severely damaged its reputation.
What is the defamation case against Nora Fatehi about?
According to the suit filed by Dunes Aviation, Nora recorded a series of videos inside a Cessna Citation aircraft during her flight from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. During the journey, Nora described the aircraft as “miniature,” a “toy” and a “Lego airplane” and posted the videos on her Instagram handle.
The company alleged that Nora’s comments harmed the reputation of the aviation firm. It further claimed that her “reckless” statements triggered booking cancellations and severely affected its commercial operations.
The suit, filed in April this year, alleged that Nora Fatehi’s statements were “reckless and irresponsible” and were made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis.
Dunes Aviation further claimed that, given Nora Fatehi’s substantial social media following, her alleged “reckless statements” caused serious reputational damage to the company, resulting in a loss of goodwill and an adverse impact on its business.
