The reports sparked speculation about the cause of his health scare. Now, the actor has clarified what actually happened and dismissed the claims surrounding the alleged insect bite. He has revealed that the infection was because of a skin condition on his right leg, which became serious due to high diabetes levels. Rajesh Sharma was admitted to hospital in July after his health deteriorated and is now recovering.
Rajesh Sharma Clarifies Health Scare on Prabhas’ Film Set, Denies Insect Bite
The reports emerged after friend, Sudipa Chatterjee, shared an Instagram post claiming that the actor had been bitten while shooting for Fauji at Ramoji Film City.
The post, which was later removed, led to speculation that Rajesh Sharma had suffered ill health after being bitten by an insect or a poisonous spider. However, the actor has now set the record straight, explaining that his health problems were unrelated to the film’s shoot. Speaking to NDTV, Rajesh Sharma revealed that he had been dealing with a skin condition on his right leg for a period. The situation worsened after his diabetes levels rose , eventually leading to an infection and hospitalisation.
“My treatment is over. Recovery is going on. Hopefully, I will start working in a week,” Rajesh Sharma said. Addressing the earlier reports, Rajesh Sharma said, “It’s false news. Nothing happened on Prabhas’s film set. Neither Prabhas nor the unit was responsible in any way. They are nice people. Nothing happened in Hyderabad while I was shooting there.”
Sudipa Chatterjee’s Post Led To Insect Bite Speculation
Rajesh Sharma said that his condition became serious only after he returned to Kolkata. “After I flew back to Kolkata, in a day or two, the situation became severe. Because my diabetes was very high and I didn’t take it seriously at the beginning,” he added.
The actor also clarified that Sudipa Chatterjee had shared the insect-bite claim out of concern after receiving inaccurate information. “She’s a good friend. Out of concern, she posted that. But she was wrong informed,” Rajesh Sharma said. Meanwhile, Rajesh Sharma will be seen in Fauji, which unites Prabhas with acclaimed filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi. The film is said to be a period action drama set during the British era, with Prabhas reportedly playing a layered character that will explore both his intense and emotional sides.
