S S Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, is already one of the most anticipated Indian films. Now, the director’s latest comments have added another layer of intrigue to the massive project.
Speaking about the film, Rajamouli described Varanasi as a grand spectacle built on a strong emotional foundation.
“Varanasi is a hard-core spectacle with emotion as its base,” Rajamouli said.
According to the filmmaker, the emotional heart of the story lies in the bond between a father and son.
While the film is expected to feature mythology, time travel, high-octane action and spectacular visuals, the father-son relationship is likely to drive the narrative and give the story its emotional depth.
Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra, while Prakash Raj is said to portray his father, Maha Shiva Bhakt. Their relationship is expected to play a crucial role in Rudhra’s journey.
