Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2026 Baleno facelift in India with a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated premium hatchback gets a refreshed design, a new three-cylinder petrol engine, additional features and Level 2 ADAS on the top-spec variant.
The new Baleno is offered in five variants, Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and the new top-spec Alpha (O). Maruti has not yet announced the complete variant-wise price list, with only the introductory Sigma price confirmed so far.
Maruti Baleno 2026: Engine and gearbox
The biggest mechanical change is the new 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 83hp and 112Nm and is available with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.
The factory-fitted CNG version produces 70hp and 102Nm and is offered with a 5-speed manual. The claimed mileage is 23.80kpl with petrol-manual, 24.77kpl with petrol-AMT and 33.61km/kg with CNG.
Sigma
The entry-level Sigma is available only with the petrol-manual powertrain.
It gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill-hold assist, rear defogger, three-point seatbelts, keyless entry, 60:40 split rear seats, power windows, fabric upholstery, 15-inch wheels and LED tail-lights.
Delta
The Delta adds features such as TPMS, rear AC vents, Type-A and Type-C rear charging ports, steering-mounted controls, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs and a 7-inch touchscreen.
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, a sliding front armrest and additional exterior chrome detailing are also available.
Zeta
Zeta adds a rear-view camera, Suzuki Connect, rear wiper and washer, telescopic steering adjustment, height-adjustable driver’s seat and push-button start.
It also gets automatic climate control, a cooled wireless charger, 9-inch touchscreen, six-speaker Arkamys audio system, automatic LED projector headlights, DRLs and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Alpha
Alpha sits below the new Alpha (O) and adds premium equipment including a 360-degree camera, head-up display, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs, leather-wrapped steering wheel, ventilated front seats and semi-leatherette upholstery.
Alpha (O)
The new Alpha (O) is the top variant and gets the biggest upgrade, Level 2 ADAS.
Its safety technology includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, autonomous emergency braking and forward-collision warning.
The facelift also gets a new Enigmatic Teal Green colour, taking the total number of exterior colour options to seven.
2026 Baleno continues to rival the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza. With the new engine, more equipment and Level 2 ADAS, the facelift gives Maruti’s premium hatchback a stronger technology and safety package than before.
