Actress Shilpa Shetty took a nostalgic trip down memory lane over the weekend as she revisited her popular film Dhadkan and gave its much-loved song ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra Suhana Lagta Hai’ a playful twist.
Shilpa shared a humorous video on her official Instagram account in which she could be seen getting her hair and makeup done while Dhadkan played on television in the background.
As the iconic track played, Shilpa joined in, singing along and pulling funny expressions and gestures that left those around her amused. She captioned the video, “Sunday Binge or Sunday Cringe,” accompanied by laughing-with-tears emojis.
Her playful post prompted fans to defend the song, with one commenting that ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra’ remained their favourite song from their favourite movie. Another user described the track as a “masterpiece”.
Sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and composed by Nadeem-Shravan, ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra Suhana Lagta Hai’ continues to be a popular choice at weddings. The lyrics were penned by Sameer.
Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, Dhadkan revolves around Anjali, played by Shilpa, who is forced to marry Ram (Akshay Kumar) despite being in love with Dev (Suniel Shetty). Ram becomes a devoted husband, while Dev turns into a wealthy businessman driven by revenge.
The film also stars Mahima Chaudhry, Sharmila Tagore, Parmeet Sethi, Kiran Kumar, Sushma Seth and Manjeet Kullar in supporting roles. Produced by Ratan Jain under Venus Records & Tapes, Dhadkan remains a nostalgic favourite among Bollywood audiences more than two decades after its release.
