Bips is back! Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who has been away from the limelight for a few years now, is all set to make her acting comeback. While the diva is yet to officially announce the project, she has reportedly begun filming. Known for Raaz, Dhoom 2, Bachna Ae Haseeno and more, Bipasha is set to feature in Hansal Mehta’s next crime thriller. As per reports, it is a web show based on the infamous Barabanki Narcotics Cartel.
Bipasha Basu Set To Make Comeback After Six Years
According to a report by Mid-day, is set to make her comeback. However, it is not a Bollywood project. She will reportedly star in filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s upcoming web show, titled Barabanki. The Alone actress has already begun shooting for the series in Mumbai. It reportedly went on the floor last month.
If the report is to be believed, this will mark Bipasha’s comeback after almost six years. She was last seen in Dangerous, which marked her OTT debut.

A source said that Bipasha immediately gave her approval after narrated the story to her. This will mark their first collaboration and the actress is reportedly quite excited about it. The report also states that Bipasha’s character has a strong connection to the protagonist. This means that she will have a meaty role in the show. Reportedly, she will also sport a new look for the project.

Barabanki, based on IPS officer Aloke Lal’s book The Barabanki Narcos: Busting India’s Most Notorious Drug Cartel, also features Vishal Jethwa and Sunny Kaushal. Set in the 80s, the show will bring to the screen Lal’s efforts to execute a large-scale operation targeting the opium trade in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district.
Describing the project, a trade source called it a compelling real-life account of how a senior police officer and his team took on influential drug cartels.
More details about the project are currently under wraps, and the makers are yet to make an official announcement.
