Karishma Tanna and Varun Bangera were blessed with a baby boy on July 29. Four years after tying the knot, the couple embraced parenthood. Today (September 4), on Janmashtami, Karishma and Varun announced the name of their son. Sharing a post on Instagram, the celebrity couple introduced the little one to the world. They named him Ved Tanna Bangera. The Instagram post also explained the meaning of the name in Hindi. Karishma’s industry colleagues showered love on Baby Ved. The new parents in Tinseltown are yet to reveal their son’s face.

and Varun’s caption on Instagram read, “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, with Kanha’s blessings, we lovingly introduce our little miracle…VED TANNA BANGERA. A name that means sacred knowledge, wisdom and light. With all our love, Karishma & Varun (sic).”

Before Ved’s birth, Karishma shot for Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s chat show Double Date, where the actress revealed that she and her husband, Varun, were initially hesitant about having a because of the uncertain state of the world. From the COVID-19 pandemic to ongoing global conflicts, the couple questioned whether it was the right time to bring a child into the world.
During the chat, Karishma shared that the decision wasn’t an easy one. She admitted that the couple spent a long time discussing whether they wanted to become parents amid everything happening around them, saying, “I didn’t want a baby because I felt the world wasn’t ready for another child. There was COVID, there are wars happening, and so much uncertainty around us. We were genuinely confused about whether we should bring our baby into this world.”
Karishma added that despite their fears, they eventually chose to move forward with hope and optimism. She said, “But then, finally, we decided, and we are here now. We just want the best for our baby.”

During her pregnancy, Karishma had a traditional South Indian baby shower. Sharing glimpses on social media, the actress expressed, “Still soaking in the love, blessings, and emotions from our very first South Indian style Godh Bharai together. Witnessing the beautiful Tulu rituals, sacred traditions, mantras, flowers, sarees, and every little custom so closely felt truly magical… almost like living a dream we had only imagined. From the poojas and family blessings to the warmth and love in every ritual, the entire day felt so pure, emotional, and deeply special for both of us and our little baby. A dream come true in the most beautiful, traditional way. Our hearts are full. Feeling deeply grateful, protected, pampered, and surrounded by love as we step into this beautiful new chapter together.”
