Gold and silver prices fell slightly in the domestic futures market amid some profit booking after bullion prices rose in the last few sessions.
The gold contract, October 5 expiry, declined over Rs 1,000 to an early low of Rs 1,54,750 per 10 grams from the last close of Rs 1,55,775 on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Similarly, Silver futures contract–December 4 delivery–declined over Rs 1,000 to a low of Rs 2,40,420 per kilogram as compared to last closing of Rs 2,42,349 on MCX.
Last seen, MCX Silver was trading at Rs 2,40,709, down Rs 1,640 or 0.68 per cent. MCX Gold was quoted at Rs 1,55,004, down Rs 771 or 0.49 per cent.
24k, 22k Gold Rates
Gold rates for all purity levels eased in the domestic retail market as well. According to bullion.co.in, the 24 karat gold rate in India on September 4 is Rs 1,55,640 per 10 grams, while the 22 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,42,670 per 10 grams.
