Tata Motors has introduced the Curvv Series X in India, with prices starting at Rs. 10 lakhs and going up to Rs. 19 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new range brings a revised variant structure, with several features previously limited to higher trims now offered on lower and mid-spec versions.
Tata has also increased the number of variants available with the Dark edition. The three-engine powertrain range, meanwhile, remains unchanged.
The entry-level Smart X costs Rs. 24,000 more than the previous base variant. Tata has also narrowed the price difference between the petrol and diesel versions to Rs. 1.3 lakh, from Rs. 1.5 lakh earlier. The additional cost for an automatic gearbox has similarly been reduced from Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 1.3 lakh.
Tata Curvv Series X features and interior
One of the main changes to the Curvv Series X is the redistribution of equipment across variants. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now available from the second-base Pure X trim. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, push-button start and auto-folding ORVMs are also part of the equipment list.
Higher variants add features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, multiple drive modes, additional USB ports and a cooled glovebox.
The Series X also gets a lighter cabin theme with leatherette upholstery. Rear-seat occupants get dedicated AC vents, a centre armrest and reclining seats. Tata has made changes to the seating layout as well, including slimmer front seatbacks and a revised rear-seat position aimed at creating additional space.
Other available equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera with blind-view monitoring, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.
The range-topping version gets a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display along with a nine-speaker JBL sound system, ventilated front seats, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, wireless charging and dual-zone climate control. It also gets Level 2 ADAS, an air purifier, connected-car functions and a gesture-operated powered tailgate.
Tata Curvv Series X exterior changes
The overall SUV-coupe design of the Curvv remains familiar, with features such as flush-fitting door handles and LED lighting carried over.
The Series X receives a black grille instead of the chrome treatment used previously. Tata has also made the Dark edition available on more variants, bringing black exterior and interior elements to the relevant versions.
Lower variants use 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while higher trims are equipped with 18-inch wheels.
Tata Curvv Series X engine and gearbox options
The Curvv Series X continues with three engine choices.
The petrol range includes a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit producing 120 HP and 170 Nm, along with a 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol developing 125 HP and 225 Nm. The diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit producing 118 HP and 260 Nm.
The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The more powerful direct-injection 1.2-litre turbo-petrol is exclusive to the Accomplished X+ variant and comes with the seven-speed DCA.
With the Series X, Tata has primarily focused on changing the Curvv’s variant structure and equipment distribution rather than introducing new engines or major exterior changes.
