Miguel Oliveira has secured his future with BMW Motorrad, committing to race the M 1000 RR with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team through 2027 and beyond.
The announcement came just ahead of the ‘s return at Magny-Cours, marking the first round after the summer break. Oliveira, who transitioned from seven years in to WorldSBK this season, has quickly become a central figure in BMW’s factory efforts despite a challenging debut year.
The 31-year-old Portuguese rider faced significant obstacles adapting to the BMW machine amid adverse weather conditions during the preseason. His campaign was further disrupted by a severe shoulder injury sustained at the Balaton round, which forced him to miss two events. Nevertheless, Oliveira has managed to claim four podium finishes so far this season, demonstrating resilience and competitiveness as he aims to build momentum heading into the final races.
Reflecting on the contract extension, Oliveira emphasized the importance of ambition and mutual trust: “Throughout my career, I have learned that success is built on the courage to face new challenges and the commitment to keep growing.
