Panaji: Claire George, Ronisha Sakhardande, Anaya Shukla and Shaurya Dessai booked their places in the finals of the Girls U9 and U11 categories at the Priority Gaspar Dias Open All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar.
In the Girls U9 semifinals, Claire George produced a dominant display to defeat Hanisha Chonkar 3-0 and secure her place in the title clash. Ronisha Sakhardande also impressed, defeating Spruha Kamat 3-0 to reach her maiden final in the category.
The Girls U11 semifinals saw Anaya Shukla continue her impressive run with a commanding 3-0 victory over Vanlalrhuitpuii. Shaurya Dessai also advanced to the final after defeating Claire George 3-0.
The tournament has also reached the quarterfinal stage in the Girls U13 category. Sachi Dessai defeated Laruatsangi 3-0, while Inara D’Souza recorded a 3-0 win over Vanlalhriatpuii.
Vanlalrinzuali secured her quarterfinal berth by overcoming Trisha Kamat 3-0, while Tisha Shaikh completed the quarterfinal lineup with a 3-0 victory against Kavya Mahambre.
Earlier in the competition, Sanaz Shaikh, Rheann Menezes Gama, Anaya Shukla, Shaurya Dessai, Shakambari Kamat, Tvisha Kotkar, Navya Gupta and Aarna Walawalkar exited in the Round of 16.
The Priority Gaspar Dias Open, being conducted at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in Miramar under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, continues to provide a competitive platform for Goa’s emerging table tennis talent.
