JSW MG Sales August 2026
MG says its sales performance continues to be supported by its ICE and New Energy Vehicle portfolio. The company has steadily expanded its electrified lineup in India, which now gets another major addition in the form of Hector Tomahawk.
Launched in August, Hector Tomahawk is the first SUV based on MG’s ADAPT multi-new energy vehicle platform. Importantly, the new SUV is being offered with a choice of EV and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The two versions allow MG to target different buyers. While Tomahawk EV is a conventional battery electric vehicle, Tomahawk PHEV combines a petrol engine with a sizeable battery and electric motor.

Hector Tomahawk EV Dispatches Begin
JSW MG Motor has now commenced dispatches of Hector Tomahawk EV to dealerships across India. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2026. Tomahawk EV has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 19.49 lakh. Under MG’s Battery-as-a-Service programme, it starts at Rs 13.99 lakh with an additional battery rental charge of Rs 4.90 per km. These introductory prices are applicable to a limited number of bookings.
Hector Tomahawk PHEV is priced from Rs 25.69 lakh, while its introductory BaaS price starts at Rs 21.79 lakh plus Rs 3.20 per km as battery rental. Bookings for both versions are currently open. PHEV buyers will have to wait a little longer, as test drives and deliveries are scheduled to commence in November 2026.
MG Expands Electrified Portfolio
Hector Tomahawk represents an important expansion of MG’s electrified portfolio, particularly with the addition of plug-in hybrid technology. The company already has a significant presence in India’s electric vehicle market with models across multiple price segments.
August’s 14.14% YoY sales growth comes as MG prepares to add Tomahawk EV volumes to its monthly numbers. With dealership dispatches already underway and customer deliveries beginning this month, the new SUV could provide additional momentum to the company’s sales during the upcoming festive period.
