Shree Radha Damodar Studios (SRD Studios) and ETV WIN Originals have officially launched their third production, ‘VETA’, with a traditional pooja ceremony. Directed by debutant Ashok Kotipalli, the film features Sandeep Saroj and Satwika Jampa as the lead pair.
Set against the heartlands of Godavari, VETA promises to explore an untold story through a raw and rustic world of love, pain and conflict. The film’s title and first look have already offered a glimpse into its distinctive setting and intriguing narrative.
Nagendra Babu attends the launch
Actor and filmmaker Konidela Nagendra Babu attended the ceremony as the chief guest and handed over the film’s script to the team. K.S. Ravi Kumar performed the clap, while Sai Rajesh, SKN, VN Aditya and producer Phani Adapaka switched on the camera.
Directors Meher Ramesh and Yadhu Vamsee, along with music director Anudeep Dev, were also present at the event and extended their best wishes to the team.
K.S. Ravi Kumar impressed by Ashok Kotipalli’s narration
One of the highlights of the launch event was K.S. Ravi Kumar’s comments about director Ashok Kotipalli and the film’s story.
Ravi Kumar revealed that Ashok narrated the script to him over WhatsApp around 15 days ago. He said the director explained the characters, scenes and dialogues with such emotion and expressions that the narration itself left a strong impression on him.
Interestingly, his wife happened to watch part of the narration and asked whether he had already agreed to act in the film.
Ravi Kumar said he liked his character but could not reveal much because of the suspense surrounding the story. He also praised the film’s unique storyline and joked that his Telugu would improve considerably after completing the project, as his character has plenty of dialogues.
‘VETA’ explores a new genre for ETV WIN
Tanmai N, Creative Producer at ETV WIN, thanked the media and everyone who attended the launch. He pointed out that VETA marks the second collaboration between ETV WIN and Sandeep Saroj and the first project between ETV WIN and SRD Studios.
Referring to the recognition received by the team behind Committee Kurrollu, he said the makers are now attempting to explore a different genre that they believe will have a strong connection with Telugu audiences. He also indicated that several more updates from ETV WIN are expected in the coming days.
Phani Adapaka promises a commercial rural entertainer
Producer Phani Adapaka described VETA as the third production venture from ETV WIN and SRD Studios. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the project and particularly thanked Niharika Konidela for her continued encouragement.
Recalling their association with Committee Kurrollu, which went on to receive a National Award, Phani said Niharika’s support has been an important part of his journey as a producer.
He also expressed his gratitude to Nagendra Babu, describing him as a mentor who has guided and encouraged him throughout his cinematic journey.
Talking about VETA, Phani revealed that the film shares the village-rooted quality seen in Committee Kurrollu, but stressed that it should not be viewed merely as a rural story.
According to him, VETA is designed as a commercial entertainer set against a natural village backdrop, featuring emotion, action and strong dramatic elements.
He further revealed that Sandeep Saroj will be seen in a completely different avatar, stepping into the space of a commercial hero with an aggressive characterization and substantial action sequences.
Sandeep Saroj opens up about the title
Sandeep Saroj thanked Nagendra Babu and the other guests for attending the event and blessing the team.
Speaking about the title, the actor clarified that ‘VETA’ was not selected merely because the title had previously been associated with a Chiranjeevi film. He said the name is genuinely connected to the story.
However, what exactly the “hunt” in VETA refers to remains part of the film’s mystery, with Sandeep suggesting that the answer will become clearer through the upcoming promotional material.
Satwika Jampa calls it an important career opportunity
For Satwika Jampa, VETA represents an important new step in her career. The actress said she considers the opportunity special and expressed her excitement about working with director Ashok Kotipalli, Sandeep Saroj, SRD Studios and ETV WIN.
She also said she is looking forward to learning through the filmmaking process while contributing to what she hopes will be a memorable film.
Ashok Kotipalli makes his directorial debut
With VETA, Ashok Kotipalli is making his debut as a director. He thanked the guests and the entire team for supporting the project and expressed particular gratitude to K.S. Ravi Kumar for immediately responding positively to his narration.
Ashok also thanked producer Phani Adapaka, Kalki Raja and the ETV WIN team for trusting him with his first directorial venture. The filmmaker assured audiences that more details about the film will be unveiled soon.
Strong technical team for ‘VETA’
VETA is produced by Phani Adapaka and Jayalakshmi Adapaka under SRD Studios & ETV WIN Originals.
The film features Sandeep Saroj and Satwika Jampa in the lead roles, with K.S. Ravi Kumar, Rajeev Kanakala, Raghu Babu, Ravindra Vijay, Prabhavathi, Pramodini and Vikas Vasishta in key roles.
The technical crew includes D.O.P. Wajid Baig, music director Chaitan Bharadwaj, stunt choreographer A. Vijay, production designer Arvind Mule and editor Raghavendra Thirun.
With an intriguing rural backdrop, a new-generation lead pair and a promise of commercial action and emotion, ‘VETA’ is shaping up as an interesting new addition to ETV WIN’s upcoming slate.
