In Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups, the role of Ticket forms an important part of the narrative. The Kannada superstar plays the adult Ticket; the younger version is portrayed by child actor Kabir Pahwa. At a tender age, Pahwa pulled off an extensive underwater sequence that is crucial to the events shown in the movie. While Kabir has not watched the film due to its ‘A’ rated certificate, he could clearly tell us that the drowning scene was his favourite. In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Kabir recalled how his ‘favourite actor’ Yash supported him throughout.
Kabir Pahwa recalls shooting for underwater scene in Toxic
Talking to us amid the success of , A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups, young Ticket a.k.a Kabir recalled learning to swim for the scene. Yash, who is the co-writer and co-producer on the film, ensured the child actor was safe and well taken care of during the difficult sequence.
Kabir said, “My favourite scene was the car drowning scene. I had continuous (swimming) classes for four months. It was a really nice experience for me under the water, and I gave it my best. Yash sir made sure that I would reach the water safely and I would go inside safely and made sure nothing happens to me.”

Why Yash decided not to use VFX in car drowning scene?
During the interview, Kabir mentioned that he did not know swimming and then shot for the film in a 17-feet deep pool under stunt director J. J. Perry’s guidance and supervision. Earlier, he and Yash thought that Kabir, being too young for the scene, wouldn’t be able to do it since the pool was deep and dark. Prioritising his safety, they had decided to use VFX. They asked Kabir to just go inside the pool once and decided to complete the scene with VFX. However, seeing his confidence and fearless determination to do the scene by himself, Yash and Perry dropped the idea of using VFX.
sir asked, ‘Let’s do that, dude,’ and we did the scene in just one shot,” Pahwa added. He further shared that Perry and Geetu Mohandas, the director of Toxic, were impressed with his performance. The sequence went smoothly because of Kabir’s bond with Yash, according to the actor’s parents. Kabir’s mother mentioned, “The bond between them is good. All the shots, close-up and everything, Kabir did on his own. There is no VFX. He did all the shots, drowning shots and going deep in the water.” The child actor agreed that Yash was there throughout to support him and help him wherever needed.
