SHOCKING: Influencer Manjeet Kaur tied to tree and burned to death

Punjabi social media influencer  has died after battling severe burn injuries for nearly two months, following an alleged abduction and brutal attack near Morinda in Punjab. She was 28. We, at Movie Talkies, pray for her soul to rest in peace.

According to police and reports, Kaur died on August 26 while undergoing treatment at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. Her death has now triggered a murder and kidnapping investigation.

As per a complaint filed by her mother, Kanta Devi, Manjeet was allegedly called to a location near a liquor shop in Sector 34, Chandigarh, on the night of July 3. The complaint named two acquaintances, Shubhi and Pinda, and alleged that they abducted her and took her towards Morinda.

She was allegedly assaulted, tied to a tree in a forested area and set on fire before the accused fled from the spot. A friend reportedly reached the location later, used a blanket to put out the flames and rushed her to a hospital.

Manjeet was first treated at a hospital in Morinda before being shifted to a private hospital in Mohali. She was later admitted to PGIMER, where she remained under treatment for weeks.

The case has also raised serious questions about the police response. Her family has alleged that Manjeet regained consciousness on August 5 and wanted to give her statement, but it was not recorded. Punjab Police, however, has denied allegations of negligence and said it cooperated fully with the family.

Following her death, Chandigarh Police registered a case under provisions related to murder and kidnapping. Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence as efforts continue to trace the accused. The motive behind the shocking crime is yet to be established, and the investigation is ongoing. We hope that the justice prevails.
