The Christmas 2026 box office race is getting more crowded with every passing day. Earlier, reports suggested that Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited NBK111 is targeting a grand release on December 24, 2026.
The makers are keen on sticking to that date despite production delays caused by Balakrishna’s recent injury. Now, Nagarjuna’s landmark film King100 has also locked the same date, setting the stage for a clash between two massive superstars.
Adding to the competition is Shah Rukh Khan’s King, which is also scheduled for the same festive period. However, trade circles feel its impact on Telugu states may not be as significant as the direct battle between NBK111 and King100.
The concern is Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release on December 18, just a week before these Telugu films. Hollywood biggies have been attracting massive crowds; films like The Odyssey and Spider-Man witnessed strong support from Telugu youth despite competition from regional releases.
With multiple big films fighting for screens, only one among NBK111 and King100 may enjoy a smooth theatrical run if both stick to the same release date. The coming months will reveal whether one of them decides to avoid the risky clash.
