As revealed in the spy shots from Vietnam, Suzuki is working on a facelift for its XL7 7-seater MPV, which currently shares its design language with India-spec XL6 and this begs the question whether the updated design is limited to markets like Vietnam and Indonesia or will make it to India-spec XL6 as well.

For starters, we can see an all-new grille with the facelift. Current model gets a larger upper grille and a smaller lower grille below it. Now, the facelift sort of has a single grille area that extends across the height of XL7’s fascia. This entire grille area is finished in Black plastic finish.

There is a thick plastic element in the middle of the grille, which will house the number plate and below it is a new faux skid plate, which is finished in Silver. At the top, there is an interesting pattern of chrome highlights, which sort of gives it a connected headlights effect, but is likely to split opinions among enthusiasts.

Fog lights are now sleeker which could be projector units and they get new housing as well. What hasn’t changed, is the LED headlights and they are carried forward. At the sides, we can see new design for the alloy wheels, but they seem to black and black and chrome dual-tone finishes, depending on the trims.

What to expect?

At the rear, things seem vastly similar between current and upcoming Suzuki XL7 facelift. The tail lights are the same, but they now get a smoked effect for a sportier look. The chrome on tailgate seems to have been removed too. Interestingly, rear bumper looks like it is identical to current model.

Inside, there might be an update in features and equipment. Right now, interiors of Suzuki XL7 in Vietnam is pretty much identical to  XL6, except for the 7-seater layout on XL7. The same 1.5L NA Petrol engine with mild-hybrid engine will be carried forward.
