UEFA Champions League 2026/27 Draw: Who will Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester United face?

The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase draw took place on Thursday, 27 August 2026, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Thirty-six teams learned their eight opponents in the expanded Swiss-system format, with the competition proper set to begin on 8-10 September.

Paris Saint-Germain enter as back-to-back champions after beating Arsenal on penalties in the 2025/26 final. They will attempt to become the first side since Bayern Munich in the 1970s to win three consecutive European Cups.

How the league phase works

Each club plays eight matches, four home and four away, against two teams drawn from each of the four seeding pots. Results feed into a single 36-team table.

  • Top 8: Automatic qualification for the round of 16
  • 9th-24th: Knockout phase play-offs (two-legged)
  • 25th-36th: Eliminated (no drop into the Europa League)

Teams cannot face clubs from their own country in the league phase. A new rule also prevents the exact same fixture from being repeated for a third consecutive season.
