Nora Fatehi Claims Paid Influencers Were Behind Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke Outrage: I Know Who Hired You

Nora Fatehi has addressed the controversy surrounding Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke once again, revealing that she was not surprised by the backlash the song received online. The actor-singer recently claimed that some influencers were paid to fuel the outrage and suggested that the reaction followed a familiar pattern. Nora also maintained that she never approved the Hindi version of the track and had no involvement in its adaptation. She said she had already raised concerns after seeing the content and later distanced herself from the project amid the growing criticism.

Nora Fatehi has claimed that she was not surprised by the backlash surrounding Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, suggesting that some influencers were paid to amplify the controversy. Speaking on the Dream with Dr Sheen podcast, she said she could recognise the pattern of online criticism surrounding the song.

“I already know who hired you, when, and how much they paid you. That was an opportunity well squeezed by whoever was behind that,” Nora said. She added that she had developed a “thick skin” and was prepared for the reaction. Recalling the initial controversy, she said, “I wasn’t panicking, I was not in fear. I was shooting for three days – I didn’t know, and then all hell broke loose.”

 reiterated that she originally shot the song in Kannada around three years ago and did not know it would later be adapted into Hindi. She maintained that she had neither shot for nor approved the Hindi version, including its lyrics and visuals. “I told the truth. I said I don’t know where it came from, I didn’t shoot for this song. I gave all the details,” she said. Nora explained that she does not understand Kannada and had relied on what was communicated to her when she agreed to shoot the original song.

“Whatever they have done right now, dubbing it in Hindi and the lyrics, they did not take any permission or approval from me. I had no idea about it,” Nora said.

Nora also recalled seeing the Kannada version and the visuals used during its launch. She said she was unhappy with the use of unflattering photographs and an AI-generated image featuring her and Sanjay Dutt.

“When I attended the launch, I saw the Kannada version, and I had a major issue because they used unflattering photos in the lyrical video,” she said. “They also used an AI photo of Sanjay and me. I was very irritated at the event when I saw all that. However, I kept my calm.”

According to Nora, she later raised her concerns with the director after seeing the Hindi version and anticipating backlash. “I told the director that this was not okay, and I dissociated myself from the project. I did not promote it anywhere. I told the director my image and reputation are on the line,” she said. She also spoke about the limited control artists can have over how their work is eventually presented. “The thing with us artists is that we do not have power, we have little power and control,” Nora said. She added that the backlash eventually led to the song being taken down and called for greater accountability from filmmakers and producers.

Nora Fatehi’s Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke controversy began after the Hindi version of the song from KD – The Devil drew backlash over its allegedly vulgar lyrics and visuals. Nora, who had originally shot the song in Kannada three years ago, said she had no knowledge of or approval over the Hindi adaptation. She claimed her concerns were raised at the launch itself, including over unflattering images and an AI-generated picture of her with Sanjay Dutt, and said she later distanced herself from the song. Addressing the fallout, Nora also alleged that influencers were paid to amplify the backlash against her, while highlighting the limited control artists can have over how their work and image are used.
